Frequently Asked Questions

Scalp Micropigmentation, also known as SMP is a non surgical hair loss procedure.

You will receive a series of treatments (usually 2-3) that will be made upof micro-pigmented “dots” that resemble hair follicles to make your hair appear fuller and denser. This will eliminate the contrast between your scalp and the thinning areas.

This is unlike any other hair loss treatment in that it less invasive and defintetly less expensive then hair transplants and hair extensions. Plus, ZERO downtime!!!

This treatment will last you 3-5 years before needing a touchup.

For the entire procedure you will need to be seen anywhere from 2-4 sessions with 2 weeks in between each session.

I hear ya’, I am too. But no need to worry because the SMP needle only goes in 1-2mm into the skin. It’s super thin and tiny.

That can be true for some. The first session is the “foundation layer”. I am strategically placing the dots further apart with a lighter shade. Sessions two and three is where I build upon the foundation using different shades and technique to give you the absolute best result.

Absolutely!! You can still color your hair and get highlights before and after this procedure given you follow the protocol. If you are grey, you will love this! It will look salt/pepper with denser, fuller hair.

Yes!!! Definitely!!! Extensions can only go so far up the head. This is a great add-on to extensions!

All hair follicles are replaced at different rates by the normal process of hair cycling. Hair growth alternates between phases of activity and rest. The growth period, called the ANAGEN phase, lasts for two to six years. During this time, the follicle is long and deep and produces thick, well-pigmented hair. About 90% of all scalp hairs are in the ANAGEN phase at a given time.

ANAGEN is followed by a brief transition phase known as the CATAGEN phase, which lasts 1–2 weeks. During this time, the base of the follicle shrivels. The resting period, or TELOGEN phase, follows CATAGEN and lasts for three months. In this phase, the shrunken follicle retains the hair fibre. Following the TELOGEN phase, the next ANOGEN phase begins, and the old hair is dislodged and falls out to make room for new hair to begin growing in its place.
